The Cowboy’s Calling

The old west towns was the scene
That is the only place the cowboy came
He was there to release his tensions
To drink hearty whiskey least to mention
Even though times were hard to bear
The cowboy had virtually nothing to share
He worked all month long just for his pay
Then off to town he went. To gamble it away
In those days the wanting was but nil
For the time the cowboy made enough for a thrill
To gamble to drink and find a woman, that night
It was the cowboys dream, a pure western delight
So the cowboy always had his calling
Some say it was good, others say appalling
But no matter his game on that pay day then
It was back to the saloon and his favorite friend
The cowboy was always broke
Nothing left from the saloon
Where he spent his poke
But then ag’in he'd return
The next payday for sure
For this was the thing
That most cowboys endure
Night Stalker

Black as the
They stalk in darkness of night
The sleek black panther
*********
Jumbo

Huge and statuesque
With floppy ears and long snout
The bull elephant
*********
The Pack

The pack was running
Colors black, grey, white and smoke
The elusive wolf
*********
Ostrich

Long neck big beak bird
With very silky soft feathers
African big bird
*********
Parrots
So elegant together
Parrots share a limb
