For a number of years I dabbled with all kinds of writing. First, I tried a novel. It was terrible and I gave it up quickly. Essays are fun, but not something I wanted to do.
One day I wrote a poem, knowing nothing of poetry except snatches of poems I heard all my life. And many of the poems I read were too hard to understand. I grew up appreciating all of the arts, but I came to enjoy writing poetry more than I had ever imagined, and not obscure poetry either, but easily understood work. In this book I have tried to gather poems to which anyone can relate. I write from the viewpoint of people with all different emotions and obvious fantasy. I leave it to the reader to discern, apart from the obvious fantasy, works which are fiction and which are based in reality.
